Paul R. Gollender, O.D.

Chief Executive Officer
Dr. Gollender, a graduate of the University of California Berkeley School of Optometry, has worked in ophthalmology and optometry since 1988. He is California State Board certified to treat glaucoma and eye disease. Dr. Gollender was one of the first 25 optometrists licensed to treat glaucoma in California. He has lectured extensively throughout the United States on the treatment of glaucoma and another neurological disease including multiple sclerosis.
Carlo G. Castro, O.D.

Dr. Castro grew up in Vacaville near Travis Air Force Base. HeĀ completed his undergraduate degree from the University of California in Berkeley, where he was inspired to become an optometrist after getting involved with the Myopia Research Lab at the optometry school there. He completed his Doctor of Optometry degree, and completed his training at the Veteran’s hospitals in Tucson and West Los Angeles, and at David Grant Medical Center at Travis AFB.
In his off time, Dr. Castro enjoys spending time with his family and extended family in the Sacramento area, Southern California, and overseas. He enjoys cycling, hiking, snowboarding and playing tennis.
Janelle Santa Maria, O.D.

Dr. Santa Maria received her Doctor of Optometry degree with clinical honors at the University of California, Berkeley School of Optometry. She then completed her residency training at the Veterans Affairs Hospital in Palo Alto, where she specialized in the diagnosis and management of glaucoma, macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, and other ocular diseases caused by hypertension, high cholesterol, and autoimmune conditions.
Dr. Santa Maria is dedicated to providing excellent, individualized patient care. She is passionate about enhancing her patientsā quality of life through the best possible vision.
Peter Klem, O.D.
Doctor of Optometry
Co-Founding Doctor
Dr. Klem is a 1978 graduate of U.C. Berkeley and received his undergraduate degree from California State University at San Diego with Honors in Chemistry. While at U.C. Berkeley, he was a teaching assistant for the final two years. Board Certified in ocular therapeutics, he enjoys working with young children and their visual needs. Dr. Klem is also a member of the American Optometric Association.
He is married with three boys and enjoys the outdoors including biking, hiking, golfing, windsurfing and just time outdoors.
